Bush may not be perfect, but at least we know where he stands. I don't know that you can be pro-life and simultaneously support Obama. Clinton may be extreme, but she doesn't hold the label as the perhaps the most liberal Senator; Obama does. The issue of pro-life is only one of many issues where he has shown time and again that he's not trustworthy as someone who is going to lead his country well.
Just for curiousity, what news sources do you follow over there?
Obama pretty much lost me when he said the only vote he regretted making in congress was voting "yes" to letting Terri Schiavo live. I think that's pretty telling on his "pro-life" stance. Do bear in mind that the media in Australia is extremely liberal--they have always had it in for presidents like Reagan and Bush and absolutely loved Clinton when he was in power.
An analogy for Schaeffer's article just occurred to me...in a way, that would be like an Israelite saying "Look at all the mistakes David has made in his career as king--the cover-up of Bathsheba-gate (though that became a scandal anyway!), his army is a mess now that Absalom's backed them into a corner--sure he claims to be 'a man after God's own heart' but what has he really done lately for Israel? Give me an Ahab any day!He lets us worship idols and sacrifice our children to Molech. A real 'for the people' kind of king."
I think it is very important to remember Jesus words, "if you are not for me you are against me". By siding with Mr Obama, whose policies (if you can figure out what he really believes, that is) are generally likely to take the United States in a diabolical direction, I cannot see how one will not find oneself opposing the Lord. Now that is a scary prospect.
not one to be lumped in with everyone else, i enjoy being different: i laugh when i ought to cry, i run off the sides of mountains, i can't answer the question 'where are you from?', i told my husband i loved him before i met him, and i'm a woman who is doing her part to reverse the negative trends of extreme feminism. i seek to encourage my brothers-in-Christ, and discuss ways in which women can do the same.

Great article. I just threw it at Digg, go bump it up here.

Perhaps it isn't just the Australian media that are "liberal"...
I love your blog, and pray for you and Mike. Here's a link to a video that anyone who supports Obama and follows Christ ought to watch.
