I am now the proud owner of a (temporary*) Spouse Visa.
*In two years time our relationship will be re-assessed by the government (to be sure it's genuine and ongoing), at which time I will then be a permanent resident.

Wow! I didn't know it was so expensive! And they still have to make sure you're not a mail order bride. That's pretty crazy. Our founding mothers were mail order brides.
How would they know the difference with a mail order bride, even after 2 years? Are mail order brides illegal?
Yay - all your hard work has finally paid off :)Does this actually change anything in your life practically, or is it just a bit of paper?
i can now look for work.
and we'll be rich... lol
Gosh, that's pretty tough on you both though. I imagine that getting a job with a temporary spouse visa will be more difficult than if you had a permanent residency visa. Just out of interest, do you know if this is the way other countries proceed (ie. check out that the marriage is for real before granting permanent residency)?
Congratulations!
Thats fantastic and praise God! Will take any financial strain off you guys - will pray for good jobs where you can still have time to keep encouraging mike and crossroads women :)
